1. The year of Rabbit is also known as the year of Cat – Кот [KOT]
2. Year in Russian is год [GOT]. If you would like to say in Russian – “the year of the Rabbit”, you need to use Genitive case for all of the astrological animal signs:
Год Кролика – the year of the Rabbit
Год Собаки – the year of the Dog
Год Козы – the year of the Goat
Я родился в год козы.
I was born in the year of the Goat.
New Years celebration in Russian speaking countries starts with predictions as to how the animal sign of the given year would affect each individual sign of zodiac. Here is an example of the Chinese horoscope in Russian. According to the Chinese horoscope, 2011 is the year of the Rabbit or in Russian – Год Кролика. You can read about how the year of Rabbit affected signs of zodiac this year in Russian here.
I’ll finish today’s post on a funny note. While browsing videos on YouTube, I came across this funny horoscope, that is a bit outdated (it was put together for year 2007), but it’s really funny!
