Count from 100 to 1000 in Russian

Learn how to count till 1000 in RussianNumbers are a very important part of our lives. If you are planning to travel to Russia some time soon, you might want to learn Russian numbers. You will need numbers anywhere you go: public transport, prices at a supermarket, addresses and phone numbers… Well, you get the idea.

In the previous lessons you have learnt to count to 100 in Russian:

Learn Russian Numbers from 20 to 100

Now it’s time to count to 1000:

Сто [STO] 100
двести [DVYES-tee] 200
триста [TREES-ta] 300
четыреста [chee-TI-ryes-ta] 400
пятьсот [pyat’-SOT] 500
шестьсот [shees-SOT] 600
семьсот [seem-SOT] 700
восемьсот [va-seem-SOT] 800
девятьсот [dee-vyat’-SOT] 900
тысяча [TI-sya-cha] 1000

Now that you know all numbers from 100 to 1000 in Russian, all you need to do is to combine them to say any number you need.

For example:

To say 101 in Russian you need to combine:
сто + один = сто один

To say 102 in Russian you need to combine:
сто + два = сто два

Now, if you would like to say 215 in Russian you need to combine:
двести + пятнадцать = двести пятнадцать

And if you want to say 357 in Russian you need to combine:
триста + пятьдесят + семь = триста пятьдесят семь

To say 489 in Russian you need to combine:
четыреста + восемьдесят + девять = четыреста восемьдесят девять

And so on….

You can try this exercise to test yourself

Please write down and say aloud the following numbers in Russian:
675, 123, 414, 981, 637, 209, 500, 888, 901, 319, 711, 1000.
